Merril Hodge is an Idiot, but you knew that...

Normally, I don't post just to mention a small thing like this. But, I'm watching highlights of the Titans/Ravens game on Sportscenter when Merril Hodge nearly made my brain explode. After the early TD throw from Joe FlaccO (You gotta yell it!) to Derrick Mason, Merrill says, in complete seriousness,

"Flacco has quickly become the best deep ball thrower in the league."

Are you kidding me?!? The kid throws a beautiful ball, there's no denying that. But it is an abortion to say that Joe FlaccO(!) throws the best deep ball in the NFL! There had to have been zero statistical research or film work done before that absurd statement. Hodge is consistently an idiot, so I shouldn't be surprised, but this statement was flat-out retarted. Even Marshawn Lynch probably did a double-take and he has the brain capacity of a small rodent (hey, I still love him though. BEAST MODE.)

Wait a second! As I'm writing this, he just said it again! I just lost consciousness. Does Merril realize that the league for Joe Flacco is no longer Division 1AA football? Joe FlaccO(!) throws a better deep ball than Peyton Manning? Really? Better than Drew Brees? Really? Better than Tom Brady? Kurt Warner? Donovan McNabb? REALLY!?!?

NO!

The kid has a golden arm. He could probably throw endzone to endzone for all I know. But let's take it easy with the hyperbole Merril. You are slowly killing me.

  1. First off, you spelled his name wrong so you must be the idiot. And do your damn research before you make dumbass comments like your previous one.

During a game against the Chiefs in Kansas City, Hoge received a concussion, and five days later, the team doctor approved him to resume playing during a telephone call without examining him to determine if he had recovered; he was still suffering post-concussion symptoms.
Hoge sustained another concussion several weeks later, and had to be resusitated after he stopped breathing. He spent 48 hours in the Intensive-care unit and was forced to retire due to brain injury. Hoge had to learn to read again and experienced memory loss, confusion and headaches.

  2. Haha^

Merril Hoge just went crazy on Sunday Countdown. Specifically saying that he was so tough in his playing days that they had to carry him off the field in order to take a break. What an ironic statement.

Hodge argued with Keyshawn for 3 minutes, in what looked like a scene from Fox News, about players taking breathers. Listening to Hoge reminisce and revise how tough he was made me laugh. But I became perturbed when Hoge rebuffed Keyshawn, who had a pro bowl career, when Key admitted that sometimes you need to take a breather. Listening to Hoge blatantly imply that he is tougher than Keyshawn is laughable.

Keyshawn was a pro bowler, Hoge was not
Keyshawn won a super bowl, Hoge did not
    Keyshawn played longer
Keyshawn is financially set for life, Hoge is not
Keyshawn dresses like a respectable ESPN professional, Hoge sports a windsor knot reminiscent of that douche bag that you want to punch out even in church.

If I had to describe the Merril Hoge and Keyshawn comparison in one word, I would say "winning"

  3. Hoge is an idiot by any standard...anyone who is that arrogant about being an expert on everything is the definition of an idiot!! Except for when he states the obvious he has never had one inteligent comment come from his tiny brain! It is highly unlikely he has the intelligence of a lab rat and without his bombastic, over the top personality he would not be able to hold down a job in any other industry, except possibly the "greeter" position at Walmart!!
